The Center for Public Service and Education (CPSE) seeks to realize California’s promise of an engaging, relevant, and impactful public education for all students. Built from an innovative and collaborative partnership of both on-campus and statewide organizations, the Center advances UC Davis' public service mission to the state of California, and works to fulfill the democratic promise of education through support for educator professional learning, applied research, and career diversity initiatives.
Center Services
- Administrative, fiscal, and event management. Leveraging years of University-based administrative leadership experience, Center staff provide important administrative, fiscal and event support functions for public-facing organizations including account management, budgeting, contracting, human resources support, logistical operations, grant proposal preparation and submission, award management, and required reporting. CPSE's shared services model provides expert customer service with increased efficiency and at a lower cost than could be achieved by maintaining the technical expertise of Center staff within program budgets.
- Strategic support for educational leadership. Center staff provide strategic leadership support for statewide educational programs, including the California Subject Matter Project and the 21st Century School Leadership Academy.
- Support for Public Service and Education. Working with both on- and off-campus partners, Center leadership develops, funds, and supports mentorship programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. The programs are designed to develop and sustain a pipeline for underrepresented students’ engagement, mentorship and ongoing support in public service, and TK-12 education.
