What if we stopped thinking of math as something students simply know—and started thinking of it as something they do?
Join the UC Davis Math Project for an exciting six-workshop series designed to enhance the way TK–12 educators experience and teach mathematics. Math as a Verb invites teachers to move beyond numbers, formulas, and procedures and into the active, creative, and engaging world of mathematical thinking.
Math is not just a subject—it’s an exploration. It’s noticing patterns, asking questions, making connections, solving problems, testing ideas, and making sense of the world around us. Throughout this series, you’ll experience mathematics in action and discover new ways to bring that energy into your own classroom.
Each Saturday workshop will feature a variety of interactive sessions, giving participants the opportunity to choose the experiences that best match their interests, grade level, and teaching goals. Session topics and grade-span offerings will evolve based on participant interests, ensuring that every workshop is relevant, practical, and responsive to the needs of TK–12 educators.
Come ready to explore, collaborate, question, create, and—most importantly—do math.
Math isn’t just a noun. It’s something we do. Come experience Math as a Verb!
